Job Summary
As a Driver Recruiter, your key responsibility is to introduce and sell the company culture, benefits and driving opportunities to prospective drivers. He/she will interview prospects, process background checks and make hiring decisions based on your interview. He/she will be accountable for fielding incoming calls, making outbound calls, processing background checks, conducting phone interviews and selecting candidates for joining our team of professional drivers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Respond to and act on various leads and sell driving opportunities
- Conduct telephone interviews of qualified candidates
- Evaluate and follow up with candidates who meet hiring criteria
- Inform candidates of the additional requirements for information and paperwork needed to continue the recruiting process
- Follow up via phone or written contact with all qualified candidates for current and future driving opportunities
- Maintain superior customer service with candidates, Internal Departments and Driver Recruiting associates
- Enter and maintain up-to-date information into Tenstreet
- Work with the personnel department to organize travel arrangements for all qualified candidates
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-year college degree
- Minimum of 1 year of recruiting experience with a trucking company interviewing and selecting qualified drivers
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge and proficiency with Tenstreet preferred
- Mastery of English speaking and writing skills required
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Interviewing skills to include the ability to listen and analyze answers, and ask appropriate questions
- Ability to make decisions based on objective data obtained from applications and during interviews
- Pleasant but assertive-persuasive telephone personality
- Previous recruiting Class A drivers in multiple states preferred
- Effective interpersonal skills - both oral and written
- Proficient with all Microsoft and Adobe products
- The utmost attention to detail and fully accountable for his or her actions
- Excellent multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills
- Self-starter that requires little to no oversight
- Ability to work with a team by providing support to other team members and maintaining productivity levels
- Extremely flexible, can handle rapid change and responds well to pressure
- Positive, collaborative, can-do attitude
- Ability to uphold the highest ethical standards when performing the job
- Open minded with proven track record of resolving difficult and stressful situations using creative and analytical problem-solving skills
